Volunteer Opportunities at the Hollywood Fringe

Hollywood Sign

With the Hollywood Fringe coming up, I’m once again putting out opportunities for volunteers interested in helping with the production.

Much like the way we ran it in Perth, this is a chance for a few younger and/or amateur magicians to get some hands-on experience with a professional production. In exchange for your help with making the show happen, I’ll be doing what I can to make it a fun and informative experience.

So once again, I’m looking for up to four people who:

  • Are over 18 years old
  • Are available in Hollywood for shows from June 18th – 24th, and also for tech rehearsals on June 5th (4-7pm), June 6th (1pm-4pm) and a preview show on June 10th
  • Have some kind of background in magic and illusion, and are interested in learning more about the business and craft involved

The role will involve:

  • Assisting with the show onstage and/or backstage, including setup, packup, and A/V logistics
  • Assisting with promoting the show outside of those times

In return for their time, volunteers will be getting:

  • The chance to get experience working with a mid-range professional illusion production
  • Any experience or advice I can provide, within reason, during those times with regard to their own magic skills and/or careers
  • Good times, wacky hijinks, and an excellent chance of some very memorable stories to tell (for example…)

If you’re interested, please send your name, age, and contact phone number to the “productions@” email address at www.simoncoronel.com/contact. Please also include a short introduction to who you are, what your interest or background in magic is, and why you’re interested in this project.

Cheers, and see you in Hollywood!
